Featured artist: Wendy Froud Wendy is one of my
favorite doll makers and one of the reasons why I am now able to make posable dolls. Her DVD on how to make
a fairy has enriched my method of doll making. She is a very good teacher and I highly recommend the DVD. She
has had an amazing career as a puppet maker, doll maker, as well as had many books published. She is very sweet and I
was lucky enough to meet her and her Husband Brian Froud and son Toby. I recently learned that their son Toby played
the Baby "Toby" from the movie Labrynth. All are extremely talented artists. The doll world, as well
as many other art media, have been influenced by this multi-talented family. Their collective talents cover so many media
that they aptly named their web site the Worldoffroud.com. Once immersed in the fanciful world of Froud you will no doubt,
as I was, be forever changed. Wendy has over the course of her career had her artistic hand in movies such as Star Wars
(check pictures below), The Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth. She has recently created the Stop motion animation puppets for
a film about the Power of Myth and its influence on human wisdom called "Mythic Journeys". I look
forward to seeing it. I hope you will take a moment to go check out her site and view her work. I also have added a link to
her Tutorial DVD on my resources page. I want to thank Wendy so much for allowing me to share her work with
my visitors.
